Drone not taking off

Hello,

I was trying today to take off with my drone and unfortunately the drone did not take off despite maximum throttle stick input in Stabilize.
Hardware:

  • X500 V2
  • CubeOrange+
  • Skystar AM60 II ESC (have AM32 esc firmware)
  • Holybro PM02
  • Holybro motors 920-2216 KV
  • Battery 4S 7000 mAh

Connections:

ESC telemetry activated on SERIAL2_PROTOCOL. Connected from ESC TX to TELEM2 RX.

Motor servo outputs connected from 4321 pins to AUX OUT 2,3,4,5.

ESC Ground pin to Ground servo rail of the cube

I would appreciate if someone can have a quick look and as i could not find the issue.. Note that i checked motors rotation with motor test page, and propellers are placed correctly

What props and take-off weight?

Seems there is a problem with CG and it is underpowered. One of the motors maxed out, max throttle and it did not even mover up?
2216 motors with low KV combined with just 4S battery is not a good combination unless You have a some large props or lightweight drone, but no info about that.

I am using the same props from X500 V2 kit, . I also bought the 4S battery 7000 mAh
I am using the Holybro motors 2216-920 KV.

It is a really simple setup, X500 V2 drone.

I saw the rpm and the maxing out. but i honestly didnt understand why this happened

I have followed the methodic config as well, and now im stuck in the first hover flight phase.

What are Your AM32 settings? Seems motors are unable to reach full power, probably due to wrong KV set. 6000rpm for 920kv motors running at 4s is far from max RPMs they should have.

Check your main power wire. See if it can carry sufficient current.

That wire connect to been copter`s battery

Also please check your props for the correct rotation.

I have attached an image showing the AM32 settings. I kept nearly everything as default. Im out of solutions.. I think i have issue with the motors as they were old but i would like to confirm it some how. Any ideas?

Props are mounted considering exactly this frame attached in the image and the motor is rotating in the right direction

The main power wire going from PM02 to CubeOrange plus you mean?
I just checked POWR.Vcc and its around 5V but i dont know if the current is loggedf and i dont have a setup to meausure it

I would appreciate if you have any comments after providing more details. I can see in the ESC data voltage and current are normal except having one large peak for a second and then back to normal

But i have kept all settings to default except changed the protocol from Auto to DShot.
I can see that the biggest impact is the Motor KV in my case is set to 2220 KV. Am i thinking right? Is this what blocking the motor to ramp up?

It is far from default. You can use “send dafault config” or something like that in configurator and see

  1. You do not have hall sensors on motors, so why this is enabled at all? (for sure not by default, and this ESC does not support hall sensors at all)
  2. KV
  3. ramp up slider decides how fast ESC can increase PWM duty, and accelerate motor

30ms interval telemetry? No idea what that does, but never seen is used and for sure is not enabled by default.

I have exactly same ESC, and that is NOT set as “almost default”.

Weird.. im pretty sure i did not change any setting so it came like that from the seller. I will test the config you have and let you know. Thanks alot for your time!
