We have developed our own tools to program missions (mission items as well as geofence and rally points) and also to monitor some telemetry messages.
We are still using arducopter 3.6.12 in our cubes. If we want to use 4.X, do we need to use MAVlink2?
no, you can user either, just the serial port to MAVLink 1 or 2. MAVLink 2 will be the new default soon tho.
