I am building a Hexa X using a Cube Orange+ as the flight controller.
Due to the geometry of the frame, the Cube Orange+ is mounted slightly forward of the frame’s center of symmetry. This means that the ESC signal (PWM) wires would naturally have different lengths.
To optimize the wiring layout, I am considering using:
2 × 50 cm
2 × 60 cm
2 × 70 cm
for the six ESC signal wires.
Could having different lengths of ESC signal wires cause any issues with signal integrity, timing, or synchronization between the ESCs? Or would it be preferable to make all six signal wires exactly the same length, even if this results in longer and less optimized wiring?
Thanks. I did the calculation with a 20 cm difference between the shortest and longest signal wire, the propagation delay is only about 1 ns, so it appears negligible compared to the ESC signal timing.
Unfortunately, I cannot switch to the CAN protocol because I am using the MN605-S KV170 + ALPHA 60A HV (Integrated Propulsion System from T-Motor).
Length is generally not an issue but check about interference, like if the wires go somewhat close to the power wires the signals might sometimes corrupt
