Crash During Range Test at 2.6km – Need Help with Log Analysis

Hello everyone,

I need help analyzing a crash that occurred during a range test.

Flight Details:

  • Distance from home: ~2.6 km

  • MTOW: 2 kg

  • Frame: 7-inch quad

  • Motors: AOS Super Nova 1400KV

  • Propellers: 7-inch 2-blade

  • ESC: 55A 4-in-1

  • Flight Controller: Cube Orange

  • RC/Telemetry: Taisync transmitter and receiver

Scenario:
The drone was performing a range test flight when it suddenly crashed at approximately 2.6 km from the home location. Prior to the crash, the aircraft was flying normally and it completed 5.5 km range test total distance travelled 11km. There were no visible mechanical issues before takeoff.

I would appreciate help with:

  • Identifying the root cause from the logs

  • Checking for EKF issues, failsafe triggers, or power-related problems

  • Understanding if this could be related to link loss, vibration, or desync

Motor or ESC failure on Motor4. Motor 4 saturates high (without effect), Motor 3 compensates low, and a crash is inevitable. There is a strong current spike at that moment, which could indicate some kind of internal short or arcing connection.
