Connecting the minimOSD to Pixhawk

Unlike the previous hardware models (APM, PX4) the Pixhawk features double telemetry ports.
The 3DR radio is supposed to connect at TELEM 1 - according to the hook up guide.
I am Confident that the minimOSD can be connected by hacking into the radio telemetry harness and that is what I will do if there is no other solution presented.

BUT - I Think I read somewhere, maybe in a post from Tridge, that the TELEM 2 port might be used to make OSD Connection more simple.

Question - Can the minimOSD connect at TELEM 2 as per today?
If not - will it be compatible within short, according to plans?

At this moment the Telem 2 is not sending mavlink data in 3.1 firmware, AFAIK it will be implemented in 3.2
