Confused on receivers and flight controllers

I am building an F550. Here are the flight controllers I am interested in

ReadyToFlyer 2.8

RTFhawk 2.4.5

The second one needs a PPM receiver. I would like to use a Phantom 1 transmitter, which is PPM compatible. The Phantom receivers, however, are D-BUS.

Is there a PPM receiver that will work with a Phantom transmitter or will a Phantom receiver work with the first choice?
