Compass settings pixhawk

I have he pixhawk with 3.1.2 and the 3dr external compass/gps
When I select rotation 180 (like on the apm) the hud is showing east as west and turning the quad makes the hud first turning the wrong way and then turning slowly to the correct heading
2 questions,

How can you check in missionplanner if pixhawk is using the external compass?
And using 180 rotation roll is giving stange behavior and with no roll all looks ok, can I conclude pixhawk and 3dr external NO roll settings?

Hi Peter,

For Pixhawk with external compass, which is detected automatically, you just check the Pixhawk checkbox in the initial config screen of mission planner.
And you leave “rotation” to None. (not 180).
