Advice please on VTOL compass motor compensation.
I donít know yet if I will have a problem after moving the compass/gps from the fuselage into the wing stubs but I see from initial hover that the lift motor effect is more than the previous position.
Ideally for a 4+1 VTOL there would be 2 sets of Motor compensation values depending if lift motors are operating or the main propulsion motor is. I also see there is a parameter PMOT for separate motor values but I donít think it would be much use in this case?
Im thinking that it’s more important to have a good compass in VTOL modes. I will try to get values from the early hover logs and use MAGfit tool. GPS position shown, along with nearest power cable.
I moved the compass to make more fuselage space. I didn’t put it further out along the wing as I didnít want to wire it into a wing connect plug.
Anyway, advice please.
Better compass location is always better than cleverer calibration. Bit hard to say how it will get on, as ever, testing is the way to go. The MAVFit tools are great!
