Clarification on LOITER without GPS

I downgraded the firmware to version 4.3.8. The downgrade alone didn’t change anything. Switched to EK2, and it works. At least it starts up. I’ll need to do some flights to see how it performs in practice. In version 4.5.0, I couldn’t switch the filter to EK2. Thanks, everyone, for your help in trying to solve the issue. It seems the problem is quite specific and related to my set of components, since downgrading to the same firmware version as Jai.GAY didn’t solve it.

It’s not a good idea to set the EK3_SRC1_POSZ = 2 (rangefinder). It is better to stick with 1 (Baro). The EKF3 doesn’t need to be using the rangefinder for its altitude source. Rangefinders are only possibly a good idea if the vehicle is flying indoors with a completely flat floor.
