Breadcrumb navigation - PixHawk


Sometimes when flying with high structures around hitting RTL might not be a good solution.

Anyone has already looked at the possibility of implementing a “Smart” RTL that would follow “breadcrumbs” from the current flight back to the RTL position?

Such system would follow positions and heights but would ignore pauses at the different positions, and would be set on modifier switch of the the RTL mode, without needing a GCS.


We have thought about it and now that we have enough memory in Pixhawk it could be done. Code away!

What would be the best procedure to have a request of such feature “launched” to the dev team? Open a issue at DroneDiscuss on ggl ??
