Autonomous Mission Without GPS Fix Arducopter

Hello I want to fly a simple autonomous mission indoors where I takeoff, pitch forward 20 degrees for 2 seconds, and land. However, since I do not have GPS fix indoors, it does not let me press the “Mission Start” button as it says switching to AUTO mode needs a GPS fix. How can I bypass this?

I believe you can disable prearm checks/messages that keep the drone from arming. You can also force arm despite errors. I would advise caution using this method because forcing arm despite errors would ignore other potentially dangerous errors as well as the gps fix prearm message you are trying to ignore. There may be a way to disable them individually but I have only seen a way to ignore all prearm messages in practice.

I am not sure your application but maybe some light based range sensors would help compensate from lack of gps fix aswell.

I was able to disable the prearm checks but I still cannot run autonomous mission because that requires switching to AUTO mode which requires position. I haven’t been able to find a way to disable this yet.
Yea I realized the lab I am working with already has the hardware for the Vicon Positioning System so I will try to use that but I have no clue how to use it. If you do know, could you look at my most recent post?
