Hello everyone, I have a question that has been bothering me a lot but I can’t find an answer to. Is there a way to land safely with the talon without using the lidar sensor? What should I do? Thanks
- Establish a procedure that ensures that the Ardupilot knows ground altitude at the landing site (for example arming on the ground).
- Ensure there is no significant coupling between airspeed or throttle and barometric altitude
- You can tune flare to happen a bit higher up and be less pronounced, this will cause landings to be a bit harder but acceptable flare altitude error will be a bit higher and you will be a bit less likely to stall during flare.

Yes, plane can autoland without lidar or airspeed sensors. It will work reasonably, however you need to accept it will never be as perfect or consistent as it would with airspeed and lidar.
