Hi All, pretty new here but I am working on a build for a high tech UAV that’s going to be used for anti poaching. The catch is that it may have to fly extended missions and while it can auto land, it will have access to a number of runways away from its home base that it may need to land on for battery changes. I know that Arducopter can use an IR lock beacon to land a copter but is there anything anyone here knows of or any way that we can use an automated system to ensure that the UAV lines up correctly on runways? Giving it the waypoints and touchdown points isn’t my main concern but rather that it is correctly lines up and it uses landing gear for take off and landing. Our UAV has LIDAR so I am not worried about ground level.
