Auto Take off

Hi.

What is best way to have the helicopter auto take off from the AP2 GCS ?

It work well using the rc transmitter but it would be nice not to have to use the rc transmitter at all.

I have a friend that is really good at programming so we can help improving the AP2 or current autopilot firmware if needed.

I think you can Arm/Disarm from your GCS from there just command way point takeoff. It’s already there to do what you are asking.

you can arm and disarm, but I still think you need to throttle.

This is theoretically possible, however, you need to be able to switch the motor on and off. This could be done in the GCS with a Ch8 over-ride. But I’ve never done it myself.
