Is it possible to assign two automatic modes, such as CRUISE and CIRCLE, to the TX 3-position switch?
Yes, of couse it is possible. Just use that switch to change the flight modes.
I like to set the flight mode switch to stable, FBWA, and manual, and assign the other 3-position switch to an automatic flight mode.
Use RCx_OPTIONS for Cruise and Circle and configure a mix on your radio for the “x” channels chosen.
Thank you. However, since each mode is recognized as 1000ÎĽ and 2000ÎĽ, is there a way to separate the modes at an intermediate position? Please teach me the specific method of MIX.
No, only with the Flight Mode channel can you do that. Or perhaps with a Lua script. Use 2 RC Input channels, 1 for Cruise and 1 for Circle and mix them on your Transmitter for the switch positions you want to use.
I understand. I can only use the flight mode channel. iNAV is easier to use in that point.
No. You can use an Rcx_OPTION and use any channel for flight modes, or other functions, in addition to the Flight mode channel. Go to the Full Parameter List in Mission Planner and select any RCx_OPTION and pull down the menu in the Options column for what’s available. You will find both Cruise and Circle as selections.
Sorry. My English skills are poor. What I want to do is to set only STAB, FBWA, and MANU on the flight mode channel (Ch8). I know that you can express 6 modes by mixing with other SWs, but it’s complicated and confusing. So I want to set the automatic flight mode (CIRCLE, CRUISE, etc.) to another SW. However, since AP can only set one automatic mode to one RCx_OPTION, in the end, two SWs are required because two RCx are consumed for CIRCLE and CRUISE. iNAV can set the SW range (lower, middle, upper) for the automatic mode, so CIRCLE and CRUISE can be combined into one SW. Is this possible with AP? That’s what I want to know.
2 RC channels will be used yes, but two positions of a 3-position switch can be mixed on the Transmitter for those 2 chan.
What Transmitter do you have?
I have a radiomaster TX16S. Thank you.
Assuming you set RC12_OPTION to Cruise and RC13_OPTION to Circle
Use any 2 channels just an example. This isn’t about AP it’s just a transmitter mix. When a flight mode change is made it overrides the current one.
Flightmodes:
1 - MANUAL
2 - FBWA
3 - CRUISE
4 - STABILIZE
5 - LOITER
6 - RTL
Switch SA selects MANUAL, FBWA, CRUISE, a combination of SA / SB selects the other modes.
Thank you. I understood. So I set the weight to be small and slightly shifted so that the 6 modes can be used with separate switches without gaps. I finally got it. That was helpful. But it seems like a trick.
I missed your answer. This was the best solution I could find. I needed to learn EDGETX properly. Thanks so much.
Use Companion and the Simulator to test configuration options. There is usually several ways to accomplish a task in EdgeTx, what I proposed isn’t very elegant but it get’s the job done.
Hi. I assigned FMODE (Ch 8) to SW SA, set STAB, FBWA, and MANU, and assigned CRUISE (SD-) and CIRCLE (SD↓) to Ch 6 and 7, respectively. For example, if I flick SD- while in STAB mode, it switches to CRUISE, but if I flick SD↓, it switches to CIRCLE for a moment, and then immediately switches back to STAB mode. The same goes for FBWA, where if I set it to CIRCLE, it switches back to FBWA. I don’t know why. Do you have any advice?
