I’m thinking about putting a H743 fc on an FMC Avanti with Arduplane. Have others done this? How would the stock pid’s do with a 100+ mph plane?
I am slowly working on integrating a Speedybee F405 Wing in my Viper 90mm but am finding that it’s a bit more challenging than dedicated FPV models (Albabird, Talon GT) to fit the full-size flight controller, Airspeed sensor and GPS with the canopy that’s been modified to fit a XF C-20T gimbal. While I’ve not been able to maiden this plane just yet, I’d recommend walking through the stock parameters and aligning them with the recommended throws/settings from the Eflite/Avanti manual as a starting point and performing an autotune once in the air to help with the pid’s.

I have installed a TBS Lucid H7 controller into my 90MM FMS Avanti. So far flying it line of sight with no problems. I started out in manual mode and trimed it out and have several flights now in acro mode. I’ll soon fpv it and do an autotune.

Last year I flew my Freewing Avanti with a Matek F405 Wing V2 and FPV. This year I switched also to a Lucid H7 Wing. There are many parameters like “PTCH2SRV_RMAX_UP” or “PTCH_RATE_SMAX” which I don’t fully understand (see Autotune docs) but maybe I am overthinking it. Happy to share more insights after the remaiden.
