I’m developing a fishing drone and, to reduce costs, I’m planning to create a version that doesn’t use a radio controller. My question is: is it possible to make ArduPilot work without a connection to a radio control?
The idea for my project is to have a drone with GPS that, when powered on, records the home point, moves forward 200 meters (a configurable distance), triggers a servo, and then returns to the home point—all without requiring a radio.
If anyone has tips on how to achieve this or documentation to help me get started, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.
Yes. But you will need an RC System anyway to configure and tune the craft 1st.
This question comes up frequently and those that ignore this out of ignorance regarding ArduRover fail.
Perfect, thank you for your reply! No problem at all—I do have an RC available for configuring, calibrating, and testing the drones, so that won’t be an issue. As long as the drone can arm and operate correctly without the RC afterward, it will fully meet my requirements.
Thank you for providing the documentation! I’ll take a closer look at it. I do have an RC available for configuring and testing the drone, so that part is all set.
