ArduPilot Mega APM2.8 - NTF_DISPLAY_TYPE config mod

Hi,

I recently acquired a second-hand APM2.8 flight controller board (I know it’s old, but I got it for about 30USD + other drone stuff), and I’ve been wondering if I can somehow mod the firmware to allow for the “NTF_DISPLAY_TYPE” config. I’m running AP 1. 3. 0. and that doesn’t support it.
The reason for this is connecting one of those OLED info displays meant for Pixhawks.

Looked online, and I don’t think anyone has attempted something like this before. Theoretically, it should be possible; the 12C port is shared between the 2 boards and thus should be compatible. “Custom Firmware Builder” does not help with firmware this old.
I realise that the chance is slim, but if anyone has any ideas, it would be highly appreciated.

Thanks Dr880

You are on your own, the server only goes back to 4.3 and APM 2.8 was supported up to 3.2.1 (copter) or 3.3 (plane).

IMHO it is a total waste of your time. Did you get any other hardware from the list?

Thank you for your help.

It was a box of old drone parts I got off a 2nd hand market. It was full of random FPV frames, motors, ESCs, and even a DJI NAZA. I think the guy was selling off his old hobby parts, but honestly, I did not ask.
