ArduDeck - open-source cross-platform GCS

Is there a way to set or change the simulator home position?

ArduDeck Alpha 32.5 is out

A small release this time, focused on planning performance and a new pre-flight briefing.

New: Flight Info panel
A live briefing for any mission or survey, built from your vehicle profile:

  • Flight time and battery count needed, with reserve on the final pack
  • Distance, furthest point from home, altitude range and total climb against your ceiling
  • Live site weather, with wind drawn as a compass and gusts shown as a percentage of cruise speed
  • A daylight bar that tells you whether the flight lands before sunset

Mission planning performance

  • Telemetry map no longer lags during live flight
  • Large missions and surveys render much faster
  • Waypoint markers reworked into clear start, end and key-command pins instead of plain numbers

Also

  • Survey and Corridor are now one button with a dropdown for the pattern

Interesting… I went to that page but it was blank. I’m not on that computer right now, but when I get back to it tonight I’ll try again. I’ll post an issue on git if needed. Thanks!

I think reserve should be applied to all packs.

Hold that thought for the next release , im brewing something that should be very interesting for survey planning

Does ArduDeck support an easy-to-use mission resume during survey missions? If not, is such a feature planned?

A more or less automatic resume mechanism is a features that DJI’ pilot app or the USCG solves perfectly. It inserts a additional waypoint in case of an RTL and resumes exactly at this point after an battery change.

i dont see a big problem adding this feature, i just need to finish some other more requested and critical bugfixes.

Guys small note regarding 32.5 , there was a failed build and therefor it did not contained the latest changes , the fix is simple , just redownload it Release Alpha32-5 Survey Optimization · rubenCodeforges/ardudeck · GitHub

@YupsUAV thanks for catching this one , cheers.

What am I missing?

I also tried the update button (V.32) but it was the same as before that it didn’t recognize the latest version (V32.5).

Edit: Tried 32.5 and the sim page is stil blank.

Can you please open the console , see if there are any errors ?

Found it , your are not going insane and you are not missing anything , my fault , the new version will have the fix , its coming soon. Thank you for the finding.

Alpha 33 of ArduDeck is out. This one came from a contributor who flies commercial surveys, and it focuses on the part of the job before the mission: drawing the area you want to cover.

What’s new

  • Area Editor - a dedicated full-window map for survey areas and corridors. Draw areas as polygons, rectangles, or circles, draw corridors as a centerline with a swath width, add as many as the job needs. Cut

no-fly holes, split an area, grow/shrink a boundary by a margin in meters, and measure distance and area as you go. Import and export KML / KMZ / GeoJSON.

  • Live flight briefing - covered area, flight distance and time, batteries needed, GSD, photo count, and data size, based on your active vehicle profile. Hectares/acres and meters/feet toggle that sticks.

  • Send to mission - hands the planner exactly what you drew as survey groups, carrying the editor’s survey settings across (a corridor stays a corridor, no re-derivation). From there it is the full planner: tune, split into battery-sized sorties, check the terrain altitude profile, upload.

  • Forecast wind overlay - animated wind across the telemetry map, mission map, and Area Editor, with altitude pills (10/80/120/180 m), a forecast scrubber, and a click-to-place wind rose. Open-Meteo data, no key.

  • Quick Launch - pop the Area Editor, MAVLink Inspector, and Telemetry Dashboard into their own windows for a second monitor.

@codeforges Hi Ruben, I’ve created a subcategory for you - ArduDeck - ArduPilot Discourse , hopefully you enjoy the extra space over there as you gain traction with ArduDeck. Nice work.

Thank you very much , i will be now ordering things properly !

Hello, I found that in the voltage fault protection, the voltage unit doesn’t match the actual value. It seems to be off by a factor of 10. Sorry, I don’t have a corresponding picture at the moment!
