Arducopter 4.8 dev and am32

I have a quick question I am running arducopter 4.8 dev with am32 esc protocol. Does ESC Kv affect the tuning or anything if I have 0804 12000 kv motors and Am32 only goes to 10222 kv.

A direct quote from AM32 wiki:

AM32 simplifies the parameter tuning process with motor KV and poles.

In AM32, KV and the poles together determine the trigger threshold of “low speed” and “high speed”. When it falls below/exceeds this threshold, AM32 will automatically trigger low-speed power protection and high-speed stall protection.

Although it is difficult for you to obtain an accurate KV number, in most cases, just setting it to the KV number provided by the manufacturer is sufficient to meet the demand.

In other words, there are about two features that depend on this, and for both of them it looks as if setting the value to be approximately equal to the truth is totally OK (definitely for a whoop).

You probably need to change the number of poles in the motor both in the AM32 config and in the Ardupilot config though. For the latter, this is SERVO_BLH_POLES. For whoops of this size it is typically 12, at least all my whoops had 12.

TL;DR Set this to 10222 kv, check the number of poles, and breathe normally.
