I’m about out of ideas. It doesn’t sound like a physical connector issue because of how you said it happens on two different setups / boards, plus how it works via usb, but figured I’d mention it anyways just in case as I saw it in a search and it could be a culprit (or in the future). Its mentioned there was a bad batch
I’m using an Emlid CAN GPS/mag/led combo on an Orange Cube, and it needs the BRD_BOOT_DELAY at 5000 for 100% solid startups.
Regarding the internal mags, I always use the winter or summer wheels - depending on the season - ziptied to the arms next to the motor plates to do real CompassMot calibrations, and my EKF is always happy.
I also remember that early Here+ had some compass-related bugs.
