Altitude estimation with Baro

Hey,
I am using Cube orange plus while flying drone it loses altitude on its own especially while in mission planning. when drone changes it waypoint it loses it altitude and after reaching on the waypoint it again gains its altitude.

Some time on Position hold the drone also loses and gain altitude on its own and some time drone wrong altitude data for example drone is flying at 2m of height but baro showing 1 meter of altitude.

You did not configure the vehicle using ArduPilot methodic configurator did you ?

If you had, you would have see how to do:

  • altitude controller configuration
  • position controller tuning
  • wind estimation
  • baro compensation

and you would not have this problem nor any others.

Is it normal to lose altitude in high wind while drone is on position hold mode or it got some problem. but in mission planning drone doesn’t loose any altitude. please tell me the reason. if it is problem please give a solution.

Depending on how you mounted the Cube on the drone it will be subject to changes in air pressure as you fly. This will show up as altitude errors. Localized high pressure or low pressure around the barometer as a result of forward airspeed turbulence will cause the drone to respond with a climb or descent. It’s very common. @amilcarlucas has given you solutions.
