Advice on building a 15–17" quad for towing a 5 kg hose of sand over grass

Greerings

I’m planning to build a quad that will tow a roughly 5 kg PVC hose filled with sand over grass while flying around 2 m above the ground. I’d like it to reach around 80 km/h peak speed while keeping endurance as good as possible.

I’m mainly trying to figure out what frame size would make the most sense and what motor and propeller size would be suitable for this kind of load. I’m also unsure whether 8S or 12S would be the better choice, what power level I should be targeting and what ESC rating would be appropriate.

I want to swap bat packs and recharge them on site as quickly as reasonably possible. I dont know in what battery chemistry is best for this.

My target budget for the drone itself is around €1,000 (its prototype, if its not possible for this money, how much then ? )

What kind of frame, motors, propellers, voltage and battery setup would you recommend? Is this even possible for drone or is it only my dream ?

Thanks for your time

At a glance, you are undersized and under budget for that type of payload and use case. May I ask why you need to do such an odd thing?

Sounds like a use case for a ground vehicle.

It cant be ground vehicle. Think is it is for lure coursing and dogs will run for the lure. The 5 kg hose full of sand would be there so lure would not fly into the sky. Maybe 5 kg is too much, and lighter package would do the trick, what do you think ?

Frankly, it sounds like a good way to hurt an animal with a drone.

I guess you are at least 2000$ too short.

Okey, if 1000€ is too low even for prototype what a realistic build would actually look like ?

If you were designing this from scratch, what size would you go ? 15" ?17" or larger? What motor/prop combination and voltage would you use if the goal is good endurance but still around 80 km/h peak speed

Also, if you think the realistic budget is closer to 3000€, what parts make it that expensive?

For the batteries I don’t necessarily need one huge pack. I can swap packs between runs and recharge them on site, so I’m also interested in whether several smaller, lighter, fast-charge LiPos would make more sense. You dont need to worry about safety, this is for prototyping and Iwill of course make it so nobody get hurt

I see. Instead of pulling the lure with a motorized line. We have helped users using multi-rotors for falconry before but that use case is new!
