I just had a autotune crash on beta8. TBS lucid h7 board, tekko f4 am32 esc’s. I have run autotune several times in the past on this rig, first time crash and just upgraded to beta 8. Any help is apperciated.

RCIN channel 5 (ARM/DISARM) appears to have gone to disarm at the same moment as the crash.
Is it possible that you accidentally flipped your arming switch to disarm?
Thanks for your reply, I had my hand on the switch in case and when it flipped I switched the disarm to help prevent more damage.

I only broke 1 prop in the fall.
I did a different auto tune flight last night and turned down the autotune_aggr from 0.080 to 0.075, it almost crashed again this flight but it was able to recover. I landed and I have added another 1000uf of Capacitance to see if that could be the issue.
I ran autotune many time prior to 4.7beta8 never had this issue, doesnt mean the issue wasn’t there just a thought.
Here is the 2nd flight that was able to recover.
You can clearly see the event where Roll diverges from Desired Roll more than is seen in the typical twitch. And something happens with Motor 4 dropping to minimum but no indication of thrust loss this time. Still a mystery.
I am starting to think that my ramp rate and duty cycle settings on the am32 firmware are to high.
Just to update…
I flashed am32 2.18 to the esc’s and added 1000uf capacitor to the build bringing the total to 3000uf.
I just reran autotune and had zero issues.
My observations are, either my esc’s like 2.18 better than 2.19, 2.20 or 2.19,2.20 can ramp so fast that I didn;t have enough caps on my build and or my ramp rate was set to high.
I can’t find any guidlines on am32 ramp rate and duty cycle. @Alka_Motors Do you have any guideish lines for these settings (ramp rate, duty cycle) for prop and motor size/KV?
9.5 Slew rate should be good. Also set Auto Timing Advance and Variable PWM 16-32KHz.
For some reason I can’t open the log file (could be an issue on my end so don’t worry), but look at the current draw during the auto tune. Look for any really abrupt spikes. They will be faster and higher than normal if the filter caps aren’t enough or doing their jobs.
I think there is some problem with esc connection as there are a lot of errors in telemetry, and rpm readings are not very clean too. I would switch to dshot300, perhaps wires are too long or getting a lot of interference. Also seems this roll issue mentioned corresponds with ESC error spike. Also error rate seems to be going up on each autotune twitch.
What size motors and props?
4112 400kv 15in props.
Go lower on the ramp rate I would suggest, but note that you are into tricky territory with AM32
