3DR Solo "Green Cube" reuseable?

I just got a ‘3DR Solo Green Cube’ (for free basically), and I have a ProfiCNC carrier board as well, (I don’t have the drone).

Can I wipe and install Ardupilot on to the Green Cube? My understanding is that the green cube hardware would be compatible with main? However the update info is old. Is there some newer steps?

Thank you

I don’t think anything changed in the process

Success, I followed the steps and installed an old version of Ardupilot then upgraded it to 4.6.3 .

Looks like all is working. However there is only Arducopter available for CubeGreen :frowning: . So I’m going to try installing it into my old Holybro X500 Quad frame.

There is a very well configured and tuned “Holybro X500 V1” template in AMC.
Using that template as a starting point should help a lot.

Well looks like the CubeGreen only has 5-5.4V signaling on PWM pins. Looks like this can’t be changed, let me know if I’m wrong here.

So I know the ESCs I have use 3.3V logic but many ESCs can tolerate up to 5V on the signal line? I’m not sure if I will break them & then crash? I could try putting a 2kohm resistor inline to reduce the voltage, (but this would surly degrade the signal?) or just use Sbus out and a PWN decoder, but this would be too slow for a Quad.

Plan ‘B; I saw that I can custom build '“ArduPlane CubeGreen” firmware! So I could put this cube into a plane and if the servos can’t take 5V signal I could use a Sbus-PWM decoder. But i understand most servos can take up to 5V signaling, not sure?

Well looks like I’m over thinking this. It works with the servos i have…
