34inch quad copter notch setting

Hi guys.

I’m setting 34inch quadcopter (eft416 with CUAV X7+, hobbywing X9(G2) 9616-110kv motor, 14s batteries*2)

There is vibration on X-axle most of time higher than Y and Z.

I tried to apply notch and it seemed it is working and had a long test flight after that. It was a bit windy but I didn’t see much problem visually.

FC is sitting on soft damper. I think it has oil in it.

After the long test flight, it seems notch is not set at a right place. (It was differenct in another log when I set it but it is not downloaded from the copter) First peak was at 19Hz but I was not sure to apply notch there because it seemed too low to be filtered.

Can anyone have a look at The Log and see if notch is set correctly?

Thank you!

Suggest you update to either latest Stable, where you posted, or latest Beta. Then configure the throttle notch for Multi-Source and make another flight. A hover flight is all you need initially. I suppose you ran Auto Tune at some point and it tuned the ATC_ANG parameters low. It’s a rare occasion when less than default is best.

Yes, I will try to update firmware.
Can I use Multi-source on throttle based notch filter as well? I thought it was only for rpm based notches.
You’re right. Tuning is not following the right order. I am trying to tune not really stable copter which was done by someone else. It seems starting from the scratch might be the right and best solution.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Turn on multi-source, but reduce the BW to 15Hz and remove the second and 3rd harmonic at least until another test flight.
There’s a good chance that real first harmonic is down around 30Hz, and your 62Hz frequency is actually the second harmonic.

Download and use the ArduPilot methodic configurator software to correctly configure this vehicle from scratch.
