My situation is this:
- I have a Hawkeye Rasberry Pi 5 based camera sitting on my desk. I bought it from from here for $209 USD delivered. Please use that link to determine the hardware specs.
- I do not code but I can do everything else required to install and use the Hawkeye Camera including making cables and integrating it into my drone systems.
- The pre-configured Hawkeye camera is up and running and is fully functional, I have verified that it works using basic tutorials.
- I can hook up a wifi, a mouse, a keyboard and a monitor and I get the “man in the boat” desktop.
I also have:
- A fully functioning VTOL drone that can carry this RPi5 computer, weight is not an issue nor is mounting it nor is power.
- I have an up to date (4.6.3) cube orange plus with multiple options to put a 3 pin servo style connection to the servo rail, I will probably want to use the AUX OUT pins as there are still some left (but not many). This is somewhat negotiable.
- I have the will to make this work and it WILL BE USED in the field to find anything from murder victims, evidence, missing persons, disaster documentation and occasionally someone’s lost dog.
What I need:
- I need someone to write code for the RPi5 (I understand that there is a huge difference between RPi4 and the RPi5 but this must be written for the RPi5)
- This code needs to accept for processing the standard signal seen incoming from the Cube Orange Plus’s pinout (AUX OUT).
- It needs to take one picture per signal received
- It needs to import GPS and altitude from the autopilot’s GPS module (Here3+)
- It needs to stamp the picture with the EXIF data from step 4
- Be able to create a new folder on the desktop with a unique name in the format of MM-DD-YYYY-HH:MM, that’s month/day/year-hour:minutes (military time preferred) and save the photos using this format: MM-DD-YYYY-HH:MM:SS-XXXX where SS is seconds and XXXX is a unique number starting at 0001 and going up as new pictures are taken
- It needs to recognize that a folder for saving to already exists so that it doesn’t make thousands of folders with one pic in them each
- I need the camera to either boot in this state (ready to go without further intervention, as in when it has power I wait for it to finish booting and off we go).
- A nice to have but not required is that it emits a sound (loud and proud) that it has GPS data available and is ready to take a pic) I need to able to hear it from about 15 feet away
- If I have to interface with it to get the program running then I will need to know exactly how that is to be done.
