10-inch Frame Suggestions

Any suggestions for a 10-inch frame? Currently going with the HGLRC MY10.

I have two videos for you. The first one you probably won’t like much. The second one is the one I followed when building my two 10” drones. (I’ve build a lot of other drones before building a 10”.)

The first one starts talking about building larger drones at 4:50. If the video doesn’t start there, skip ahead to that timestamp.

This next video is by Hoarder Sam. He’s not an expert on long range drones but I found this video very helpful.

I have two of the frames suggested by Hoarder Sam. I think they work fine. I haven’t tried any other 10” frames so I don’t know how they compare with other options.

I’m assuming that’s taking a shot at me?

I mean I’m on my uni’s drone team and all I can and want do rn is learn day-by-day, all the little things about both the hardware and software and how and where they link, whether that be from regularly reading through this forum or tinkering on my own, so god forbid I want to challenge myself a little bit so I can transfer those learnt skills to my team, by asking advice for things from people who have been doing it much longer than myself lol. It’s not that I don’t like the video, it’s just I’d rather just have some fun with something I actually want to make. I’m going to learn regardless.

I understand where you’re coming from but its like, even if I had been doing this for however long, I still would have asked a question like this. I know there’s the Mark4, the Holybro frames, iFlight has a couple, etc etc but I just wanted to get the opinions of others.

I appreciate the second video, it sounds more helpful and will have a watch later.

Just hoping this isn’t your first drone build. If it’s not then great. Good luck either way.

It’s my first one I’m doing completely on my own. I’ve worked on the physical side for some friends (more-FPV and BF based) but never did the whole process, from choosing parts. I’m assuming it being “great” was satire.

I understand the whole, start small, learn, and advance to bigger, and repeat but l’ve noticed that for some reason, people get very hostile/defensive when someone like myself who is, I’d say, a “beginner” to an Ardu-based system tries to go into something that isn’t typically easy for a beginner. I’m not directing this at you because I’m not aware of the intentions behind your remarks but I’ve seen it more on reddit and never quite understood it.

I appreciate your support anyways. You’ve answered some of my questions in the past that have helped me learn.

I really like Axisflying manta x10 lite frame, it’s very strong and have low vibrations because of good quality carbon.

Yepp, I appreciate the suggestion. That’s the one I switched to. Ordered it a couple hours ago. I saw some benefits with the “true X” prop configuration and the materials were slightly better for the same price, so had to grab it.

Appreciate it!

Check out these guys: https://cncdrones.com

I’ve ordered from them in the past and it’s gone well. Lot’s of frames to pick from so you can likely find something. They ship from the lower mainland in BC.
