Dagu Wild Thumper 6WD with APM 2.6

Hi,

Is possible connect autopilot APM 2.6 with Dagu Wild Thumper 6WD? Thi is the product: pololu.com/product/1562

There is a wiring diagram or a guide that explains how to do?

Thank you for the reply!

Andy

@andy76,
The Wild Thumper will work with an APM and you have two options to control the Thumper motors:

    • Use a mixing ESC like the Sabertooth and send steering and throttle PWM signals from the APM to the Saberthooth in the mixing mode.
    • Use the ArduRover2 skid steering mode and use the right and left channel outputs to control two separate ESCs, one for each side of the Thumper.

Take a look at this Wild Thumper build: http://www.diydrones.com/group/ardurover-user-group/forum/topics/my-first-rover-build?commentId=705844%3AComment%3A1474601&groupId=705844%3AGroup%3A903163

Thank you for the reply!

Sorry but I’m a beginner. There is a circuit diagram of connection between Motor and Sabertooth and Sabertooth and autopilot APM?

Thank’s, and sorry for the stupid question…

@andy76,
Here is a link to the Sabertooth 2X25 motor controller: http://www.dimensionengineering.com/products/sabertooth2x25
Also, here is a link to a project that uses a Sabertooth 2X10, but the wiring will be the same: http://www.lynxmotion.com/images/html/build148.htm

Thank’s! :smiley:

Hi thinking off getying the wild thumper 6x6 would 2 x Tazer 15T’s work on those motors?
Thanks
Smiddie

@Smiddie,
Is that peak or continuous current for the Tazer?
If it is continuous current, then it will probably work if you do not make the chassis too heavy with too many additional components.
I have a home brew 6WD rover working with a Saberthooth 2X12 motor controller, but I have it mounted on a 1/8" aluminum heatsink to keep it cool.
