ArduPilot with Iridium RockBlock Modem

Hello all,

Looking for a solid autopilot that will allow me to control my aircraft beyond visual line of sight (Yes, I know… illegal here in the USA but this is for relief efforts in foreign countries). Looking to communicate with the Ardupilot using the RockBlock modem and the Iridium network or something similar. Does anyone have experience with this? Will the Ardupilot communicate with a ground station through the Iridium network? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It looks like the Devs are starting to work on this feature, but it’s not ready yet.
